How to make your own candles, step by step

What you will need to make your own candles:

1. Wax
2. Wick
3. Candle hardener
4. Candle mold
5. Candle dye
6. Candle scent
7. Blue tack
8. Skewer
9. Sharp knife

Melt the wax:
Melt the wax and candle hardener in a double boiler when the wax is melted add in your candle dye and scent, allow the wax to cool before you pour it into your candle mold.

Wick the mold:
Wick up the mold and put a bit of blue tack on the bottom of the mold which is actually the top of the candle, this will stop the wax from pouring out. Tye the end of the candle wick to the skewer and place across the bottom of the candle mold, make sure the candle wick is central to the candle mold.

Cool the candle down:
You can also sit the candle mold into a bucket of water this will speed up the cooling process, be careful not to allow the water to get into the candle mold.

Top up the candle:
You will need to top up the candle as it cools to get a flat bottom surface. Remove the skewer and flatten the bottom of the candle with a sharp knife and top up the candle.

Remove from the candle mold:
When the candle is hard gently remove from the mold and allow to harden for another 24 hours before your burn it
